This classic lentil (toor dal) based stew cooked with vegetables is a south-indian household staple.

Cooking Instructions
  1. Mix the contents with 300ml water and stir well directly in the pan used for cooking.
  2. Add 100g vegetables of choice and mix well.
  3. Cover with a lid and let the mixture boil until the veggies are fully cooked. Keep stirring occasionally.
  4. Temper mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves in 20ml oil and add to the sambar.
  5. Turn off the heat and garnish with coriander (cilantro) leaves.
