This classic lentil (toor dal) based stew cooked with vegetables is a south-indian household staple.
Cooking Instructions
- Mix the contents with 300ml water and stir well directly in the pan used for cooking.
- Add 100g vegetables of choice and mix well.
- Cover with a lid and let the mixture boil until the veggies are fully cooked. Keep stirring occasionally.
- Temper mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves in 20ml oil and add to the sambar.
- Turn off the heat and garnish with coriander (cilantro) leaves.
